Anderson Creek Bridge at Washburn's Eddy , NY

This bridge was built as a wood Howe truss in c.1870 with a 56' span.  It was Old Bridge #15.
The railroad always referred to this creek as Avery but all maps that are labeled show it as Anderson, after the family that lived upstream near Route 28.  In 1889 it was described as being in bad condition and supported by bents and in 1891 was replaced with the style we see today and new abutments.  The current bridge was built in 1943 and the abutments were then repaired.  The D&H designation is Br83.53 and the span is 49' between the abutments.
