Hudson River Bridges at The Glen

There have been four bridges carrying what is now Route 28 over the Hudson River.  They were within sight of the railroad station there which was probably the main reason they decided to make it a passenger stop.
The first covered wood bridge was built in 1816 and lasted until ice took it out in 1843. A two lane covered bridge replaced it and that lasted until ice pushed it off its footings in 1903. An iron bridge replaced that and was in use until the road was realigned and the current concrete span was built in 1959.
