Hotels at The Glen

The first hotel at The Glen was The Grove Hotel which was originally the Gilchrist residence converted in the late 1800's.  It was located next to the station and even had its own unloading platform at one point.
After the station was removed in 1934, the D&H probably used the hotel for any passengers as there is still a station listed for The Glen even into the '50s. The building burned down in 1963.

The second hotel was built next door in 1908 and can be seen in the background in the top photo above.  This was known as Goodman's Hotel and was also at some point a store and post office as well.  Later it was called The Glen House.  At some time it was purchased by the State University of NY and run as a youth hostel.  The last use was an outdoor center when in 2000 it burned down.
