The Glen Railroad Station

  The first station at The Glen was built by the Adirondack Company in 1870 then for some reason, it was just a flag stop station by the 1880's.  A new station was built in 1892 and that is the one in these photos.
  The station was retired in 1934 and the building was sold to W.J. Schramm for $75.  A few years later, State Route 28 was re-routed over the site of the station.  As you drive through The Glen today, you pass over the old station site.

Station Elevations

  Below is a photo of the Section 9 Tool House in 1918.  This building was probably built in 1890 when many others were built.  It sat south of the station until about 1911 when the tracks were rebuilt and the siding added.  It was moved north of Glen Creek near where old route 28 crossed the tracks.  It was removed in 1926.
