Warrensburg Freight Buildings The first freight office was an old passenger car parked at the end of the tracks near the shirt factory. This was placed there in 1907 and stayed in use until replaced with a new building in 1929. There were also two boxcars next to it for freight storage. There was a loading ramp in front of the boxcar that got enlarged in 1924. c.1920
1928 A new freight house was finished on March 23, 1929. I have not found out when it was removed so if anyone knows, I would like to know. It was gone before a blueprint from 1968. 1931 Today there are two storage sheds in place of the freight house. The one closer to Mill Street, on the left in the photo below, was on a blueprint from 1968. The other one was built since then, probably by Northeastern Products Corp. who bought the property from the D&H in 1968 and owned it until 1995. 2002 |
