The Professional model was made between 1903 and 1921.

This website and my collecting and restoring hobby all started with a York & Sons cornet found at a yard sale back in the 1990s. I had played the trumpet for years and always had an interest in history, but really knew nothing about the world of vintage brass instruments. That all changed when I found a beautiful York Perfec-Tone cornet at a yard sale with gold-filled engraving on the bell. I had never heard of the company and wanted to find out all about it. The quest for other vintage horns soon followed. Thirty years later, and now I have researched every maker out there and played hundreds of vintage horns.

When I saw this York cornet for sale, it brought back memories of my first cornet, and I just had to try it out. Here it is as I bought it; complete but a bit banged up and tarnished.
