North Creek Station
The station at North Creek was built sometime between 1872-74 (there are various dates given) and the south porch was probably added soon after. It measures 20.5' x 50' with a 35' porch. Half of the porch was later filled in for use as the ladies waiting room; probably in the 1890's.
Extensive repairs were made to it in 1928 including the lower band of horizontal siding. In 1938, the long wooden platforms were removed and replaced by a ramp.
Passenger service was ended in 1957 due to lack of ridership and the last ore train passed by in 1989.
The station became a state historic site in 1976 and by 1990, a local group had formed to aquire and restore the station. Restoration was completed by 1998 and the building is now a museum.
